Personalized Payment Cards
Personalized payment cards was a project to completely transform our interactions with money - part of that effort meant changing people’s relationship to the bank by creating a credit card that was personal and fashionable in addition to being utilitarian.
I designed and prototyped the card and worked closely with product designers to create a customization experience that translated to manufacturing.

Through extensive design research, we found that there was a big disconnect between people and the money they were spending through credit. We designed credit cards out of unique materials such as metal, wood, marble, and resin in a new, striking form factor with no bank branding in order to encourage ownership and bridge the gap between people and their money. I worked with a team of software engineers to create a system that allowed users to create unique generative patterns for their cards. I ownned the look and feel of the card - creating prototypes, personalizing cards with a laser cutter, and corresponding with our manufacturers to match our specifications and create a final form that was able to be mass-produced.
